Does he want it to be outside? What kind of day? Inside? Where? When you plan it out, talk about what type of scene he wants. You may want to plan this out before you start and draw what your child wants on the cardboard before letting him paint. This book is just full of fun activities for you and your child! If you made the sock puppets mentioned above, you can take a large piece of cardboard and make some scenery. You could also try our Alphabet Lacing Cards, or you could buy a sock puppet kit for crafting fun. Open your front door and expose your student to the weather! Is it hot, cold, rainy, snowy, or windy? Let your student describe the weather and then discuss what should be worn in that type of weather (rain would call for rubber boots, hat, and coat). Plenty of activity ideas are provided that do not require printables. You do not have to use the printables in order to use this study. If they want a cookie, they will need a napkin, etc…….With this book you can work on many language concepts such as sequencing, improving vocabulary, answering “wh” questions, phonemic awareness, prepositions, size (moose is very big!), colors and much more. If you give your child milk, they will want a cookie. This book is a silly story that many children would love during mealtime or anytime! I relate to this book because sometimes my life feels a bit like this. If a big moose came to your house, you would give him a muffin and then some jam to go with it and so on. If You Give a Moose a Muffin by Laura Numeroff is a funny and engaging tale that is appropriate for children ages four and up (but younger will enjoy as well).
